Friday night’s game was dominated by the pitching but the game Saturday night was an entirely different story with the score being more like a football score featuring home runs from Lance Meyers and Malcolm Cepeda for The California Dogecoin. Meyers, born and raised in Evansville, Indiana and having family in Huntingburg was able to put on a display in front of friends and family. Meyers has a lot of power at the plate and is able to play pretty much every position making him extremely versatile. He is also an extremely good manager and coach as well and has been an integral part of league operations. This was Malcolm Cepeda’s first professional home run. He is the grandson of Hall of Fame first baseman Orlando Cepeda. Malcolm’s dad also had an extensive professional baseball career as well. It is good to see Malcolm getting an opportunity to show is ability.
The California Dogecoin will play The Indiana Barn Owls again Sunday at 6:30pm in League Stadium in Huntingburg, Indiana.
Next week games will continue Thursday August 13th – Sunday August 16th with 6:30pm start times as well! Admission is $5 and Kids 6 and under get in free.
